Are you Autumn-ready? 🍂

We've got the winter duvet on (bliss), I've changed my summer wardrobe to my winter clothes and we've had the log burner on already.

Doing the school run this morning I had to wear my coat. It's definitely getting chillier!

It's time to get cosy! I've dotted (more) candles around my home which I now light every evening and I've dotted throws and blankets around so it's easy to get cosy.

I love creating a cosy corner for enjoying my book. I love reading and when it's chilly outside I love nothing more than curling up with a good book for an hour (if I'm very lucky!)

I'm always in awe of those people who leave a review on a book and say things like "I read it in one sitting". Ey? How? Not that I am not capable of reading a book cover to cover without stopping, but who has the time for this!? I'm lucky if I get to read a page at bedtime!

So this autumn / winter I'm going to ensure I create some time to enjoy my book from time to time in my ready-made cosy corner. Little, simple things. 😊

But it's Friday and I'm looking forward to a slower paced weekend.

Maybe a bit of pampering? Breakfast in bed? A bit of shopping maybe - I am already temped by all the autumn cosy jumpers and boots! Do you do a bit of baking at the weekends? I've been batch baking crumbles for the autumn and winter months. Maybe your off on a lovely dog walk - followed by a pub lunch or coffee shop stop? I always need either one of those after a long walk 😄

🍂 A U T U M N V I B E S 🍂

I love this time of year - with back to school (college for us), I always feel like it's a little fresh start. I love starting a fresh notebook for my ideas (both home and business), having a mini spring clean of the house, and start to make my home cosy for the months ahead.

I've recently discovered a couple of new independent coffee shops that I will be making the most of this Autumn - whether it's to catch up with friends, spend a couple of hours working in there or to enjoy a coconut milk latte (my new fav) whilst I read a book. This last one is something I've probably done once or twice in my life as it feels totally indulgent to me. 😊 Do you get it, or are you totally comfortable with having a spare hour or two to yourself to read in a coffee shop? ☕📕 Let me know in the comments.

As we come into the latter stages of summer, there are so many simple things I want to enjoy before we're cooped up inside for the autumn/winter months.

This summer seems to have gone so fast, and back to school is almost upon us when routine will run our days and the long, lazy days of summer will soon be a collection of pics on our phones. 📸

So I for one want to make the most of the last warm days of summer. Sitting outside for as many meals as possible, and enjoying my book in my swing chair for an afternoon. (tbh, I'll be lucky if I get an hour, but an afternoon reading sounds better) 😊

Happy Hump Day lovelies! 🤩

As we come into the latter stages of summer, there are so many simple things I want to enjoy before we're cooped up inside for the autumn/winter months.

This summer seems to have gone so fast, and back to school is almost upon us when routine will run our days and the long, lazy days of summer will soon be a collection of pics on our phones. 📸

So I for one want to make the most of the last warm days of summer. Sitting outside for as many meals as possible, and enjoying my book in my swing chair for an afternoon. (tbh, I'll be lucky if I get an hour, but an afternoon reading sounds better) 😊

Are you with me or is your head already in pumpkins and hot chocolate? I love autumn, but I love summer too, so want to make the most of it before autumn creeps in. And then I'll be all over the cosy vibes! 🍂

I'm hoping this week will be better as last week was a bit rubbish. I had either the flu or Covid. Hadn't heard of Coved in ages, until I had to cancel a couple of catch-ups last week and friends said they were beginning to hear about people getting it again. Hope you're all ok. 😘

So I'm looking forward to a productive and healthier week this week. Didn't manage to workout last week, so hopefully I can get a few workouts in. 🤞

I've got a couple of house projects I need to kick start and I've got some new products to pop on my website as well as start to plan my Christmas collection. Eek! 😜

I also have a new project to give some thought to. It was an idea that came to me from an observation my daughter made when we were out at the coast this summer. Needs a lot of research but could be exciting... 🤔

How are we all today? I've got to be honest, I'm already missing my holiday. I'm missing waking up to brilliant blue skies, the relaxed days stretching out before me.
The first coffee on the terrace when the sun isn't so fierce. The rhythmic sound of the sea, the balmy evenings with twinkle lights on the palm trees. *sigh*

Have you been on holiday yet, or are you looking forward to it in the next few weeks?

Before my hols, I was stood in the queue at the Dr's to collect my prescription. There was a lady at the desk who was explaining she was off on holiday on...
so needed her prescriptions a little earlier that month. She then gave the date she was away, her name, date of birth and her address. They are key pieces of information and yet we announce them to whoever is in the queue behind us.
Anyone think this is a bit mad, considering we're always being told to keep our personal data secret / hidden?

As robbery isn't my thing, I didn't go and empty her house whilst she was on holiday 😆 But someone could! Be mindful what you tell people and who may be listening. #wednesdaywisdom 😉

Anyway, if you're off on your hols soon I hope you have a fabulous time.

Hello! How are you lovelies?

We've just got back from a two week holiday in the sunshine. Blimey it was hot! 🥵
It's been full on for some months now, so a two week break to switch off was much needed!

But I've got to be honest, after a week and a couple of days my notebook came out and I was busy making notes and doodling new designs. I think the break from everyday stuff allowed my brain to start thinking creatively again which was so nice.

As much as we had a lovely time on our hols, it's nice to be home. But it's been a busy couple of days as the garden now looks like a jungle and I was washing, tidying and cleaning the house. One of my ideas whilst on hols was interior faffing as I like to call it. In the kitchen we have a large dresser type set-up and one of the cupboards has glass doors. In here we stored the 'posh' mugs ☺️ and enough glasses to host a party for at least 80 people. Why!? Why do I have all of these glasses on display? So I decided to have a little shift around. Most of the glasses are now hidden in a cupboard and I've put my lovely pretty bits on display instead. 💕 It looks a lot nicer now.

Well it's back to reality today. Working but also sneaking in a quick hair app as the sun has bleached my hair to Lego yellow. It's not a good look! 😆

The best picnics are on the beach - when I was a child, we would picnic on the beach every day of our holidays. We would take so much stuff with us to the beach for the day.

A huge 4 man dinghy which was usually fully inflated! Carrying that, the wooden oars, a windbreak, towels, buckets and spades, the picnic and a cricket set was a bit tricky, but it was all part of the fun and I have some brilliant memories of those happy times. 😍

I'm hoping to dodge the showers at the weekend as I want to pick some elderflowers to make cordial. It's gorgeous and it will easily mix with gin! So whilst it's pouring down outside we can still drink our summer cocktails indoors and watch a good film. 🎥🍸

Well I had an odd start to the week. Yesterday morning found me channelling my best David Attenborough whilst I sat watching two moles very busy digging up our lawn.

After about 30mins one of them surfaced and I picked him up and popped him in my washing basket and walked him over to the wood where I let him out.

Within seconds he was underground again. They’re strong little things!

So if you also have trouble with them, just give me a shout and I’ll pop round with my washing basket. 🤣

💕 Your home should be a sanctuary 💕

What do you do to unwind at home? 🧘‍♀️🪴

This week has been particularly painful (literally). As you know I like to exercise at home and have done for years. With the internet it's so easy to do a varied workout from your home. However... Last weekend I did a weights workout and a pilates sesh with weights. I must have twisted something as the next day I woke up and couldn't move.

I couldn't even turn myself over in bed. I was in agony and couldn't find a position to get out of pain. This lasted for days. 🫤

This evening I'm going to unwind with a lovely deep bath with some epsom salts (mostly magnesium) so I'm hoping to sleep better this evening too. I did want to try a bath earlier this week but couldn't get in it I was in so much pain.

It's beginning to ease thankfully. So if you do exercise on your own at home, please be very careful and don't over do it! 😳

BREAKFAST IN BED 🥞☕ ☀️

It's such a lovely treat isn't it. I can't remember the last time I had brekkie in bed.

And Sunday is the ideal day for a slow start and a leisurely brekkie in bed.

☀ HAPPY SATURDAY ☀

How are we all today? It's been a busy day here at Cow Parsley Living HQ.

Kicked off with a coffee in bed. Whilst sipping, I could heard something knocking outside. (It's very quiet down our lane). Hubby looked on the security cameras and there was a magpie pecking at his car. It's shiny and the magpie could see itself! I found it funny - hubby not so much. 😆

Last night when we were sat in the "library" 😉 📚 our resident deer nonchalantly walked past the glass doors and up to the garden. So this morning we had to chase her out as she eats everything!

Then it was off to run some errands, including dropping off orders at the post office (thank you) 😘

A quick dash to the shops for BBQ food and then home to do housework and a few new product photos.

But as it's #IndependentBookshopDay I think it's only right to recognise this very important day by sitting down at some point to read. I love an independent
book shop. I can spend hours in a book shop.

Thought I'd share a few fun "facts" about Easter:

🐰 Easter egg chocolate is calorie free
🐰 It is the law to have Easter eggs for breakfast
🐰 Dippy eggs don't count as Easter eggs
🐰 Mini eggs are to be sprinkled on literally every food item this weekend
🐰 Hot cross buns eaten at bedtime will give you sweet dreams
🐰 The Easter bunny is real (obvs)
🐰 Easter weekend is the time to use up any cornflakes by mixing them with melted chocolate and making nest cakes out of them. Mini eggs feature here too!
🐰 The Easter bunny is allergic to chocolate so won't scoff your eggs.
🐰 An Easter egg hunt counts as cardio!
🐰 Keep an eye out in the shops next week as there will be mince pies on the shelves.
