I’ve got dishes of various Christmas snacky-snacks dotted around and I’m already planning my Christmas table which I want to look pretty and be fun.

My table will be dotted with dinner candles and t-lights in various holders - all of different heights. I want it to be all twinkly!
I’ll add an element of fun with my mini bauble napkin rings and Christmas crackers with a game in them. Racing penguins are the best!

Christmas is all about family and when they're no longer with you, it hurts.

I came across this gorgeous t-light holder which I thought would be perfect to light and remember those we love. I know we don't need a candle to remember them, but just the act of lighting it and having it glowing whilst we're altogether at Christmastime is a nice feeling.

I LOVE mince pies! 😋

I've got a stash of them in the kitchen and it's taking a lot of willpower not to scoff the lot of them in one sitting. 🐽 If I don't have time to bake my own, I buy them, remove the cases and give them a light dusting of icing sugar. 🤭 They look really pretty on display in the kitchen and an easy treat for when friends pop in for a cuppa.

All the Christmas food adverts are tickling my taste buds and I’m going to start Christmas baking this weekend. I love the Christmas prep process.

Starting with my Christmas cake. I follow a James Martin recipe but swap the brandy for amaretto as I prefer the flavour. I also do a double layer of marzipan as I love it! I see the outer layer of icing as a protective layer only. I peel it off before eating as I am not a fan. It’s like eating sweet floor lino.

I love decorating my kitchen at Christmas too. It already has twinkle lights on the beams, but I like to add Christmas signs, use Christmas-styled accessories, and have a few bits ready to decorate my Christmas table on the big day, or for when we have friends popping in for drinks and nibbles.

Are you Autumn-ready? 🍂

We've got the winter duvet on (bliss), I've changed my summer wardrobe to my winter clothes and we've had the log burner on already.

Doing the school run this morning I had to wear my coat. It's definitely getting chillier!

It's time to get cosy! I've dotted (more) candles around my home which I now light every evening and I've dotted throws and blankets around so it's easy to get cosy.

I love creating a cosy corner for enjoying my book. I love reading and when it's chilly outside I love nothing more than curling up with a good book for an hour (if I'm very lucky!)

I'm always in awe of those people who leave a review on a book and say things like "I read it in one sitting". Ey? How? Not that I am not capable of reading a book cover to cover without stopping, but who has the time for this!? I'm lucky if I get to read a page at bedtime!

So this autumn / winter I'm going to ensure I create some time to enjoy my book from time to time in my ready-made cosy corner. Little, simple things. 😊

I've been batch baking crumbles for the autumn and winter months. Maybe your off on a lovely dog walk - followed by a pub lunch or coffee shop stop? I always need either one of those after a long walk 😄

I love this time of year - with back to school (college for us), I always feel like it's a little fresh start. I love starting a fresh notebook for my ideas (both home and business), having a mini spring clean of the house, and start to make my home cosy for the months ahead.

I've recently discovered a couple of new independent coffee shops that I will be making the most of this Autumn - whether it's to catch up with friends, spend a couple of hours working in there or to enjoy a coconut milk latte (my new fav) whilst I read a book. This last one is something I've probably done once or twice in my life as it feels totally indulgent to me. 😊 Do you get it, or are you totally comfortable with having a spare hour or two to yourself to read in a coffee shop? ☕📕 Let me know in the comments.

Happy Hump Day lovelies! 🤩

As we come into the latter stages of summer, there are so many simple things I want to enjoy before we're cooped up inside for the autumn/winter months.

This summer seems to have gone so fast, and back to school is almost upon us when routine will run our days and the long, lazy days of summer will soon be a collection of pics on our phones. 📸

Happy Monday lovelies, hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I'm hoping this week will be better as last week was a bit rubbish. I had either the flu or Covid. Hadn't heard of Coved in ages, until I had to cancel a couple of catch-ups last week and friends said they were beginning to hear about people getting it again. Hope you're all ok. 😘

So I'm looking forward to a productive and healthier week this week. Didn't manage to workout last week, so hopefully I can get a few workouts in. 🤞

I've got a couple of house projects I need to kick start and I've got some new products to pop on my website as well as start to plan my Christmas collection. Eek! 😜

I also have a new project to give some thought to. It was an idea that came to me from an observation my daughter made when we were out at the coast this summer. Needs a lot of research but could be exciting... 🤔

So after a week of feeling rubbish, I'm raring to go this week! 😁

How are we all today? I've got to be honest, I'm already missing my holiday. I'm missing waking up to brilliant blue skies, the relaxed days stretching out before me.
The first coffee on the terrace when the sun isn't so fierce. The rhythmic sound of the sea, the balmy evenings with twinkle lights on the palm trees. *sigh*

Before my hols, I was stood in the queue at the Dr's to collect my prescription. There was a lady at the desk who was explaining she was off on holiday on...
so needed her prescriptions a little earlier that month. She then gave the date she was away, her name, date of birth and her address. They are key pieces of information and yet we announce them to whoever is in the queue behind us.
Anyone think this is a bit mad, considering we're always being told to keep our personal data secret / hidden?

As robbery isn't my thing, I didn't go and empty her house whilst she was on holiday 😆 But someone could! Be mindful what you tell people and who may be listening. #wednesdaywisdom 😉

Hello! How are you lovelies?

We've just got back from a two week holiday in the sunshine. Blimey it was hot! 🥵
It's been full on for some months now, so a two week break to switch off was much needed!

But I've got to be honest, after a week and a couple of days my notebook came out and I was busy making notes and doodling new designs. I think the break from everyday stuff allowed my brain to start thinking creatively again which was so nice.

As much as we had a lovely time on our hols, it's nice to be home. But it's been a busy couple of days as the garden now looks like a jungle and I was washing, tidying and cleaning the house. One of my ideas whilst on hols was interior faffing as I like to call it. In the kitchen we have a large dresser type set-up and one of the cupboards has glass doors. In here we stored the 'posh' mugs ☺️ and enough glasses to host a party for at least 80 people. Why!? Why do I have all of these glasses on display? So I decided to have a little shift around. Most of the glasses are now hidden in a cupboard and I've put my lovely pretty bits on display instead. 💕 It looks a lot nicer now.

Well it's back to reality today. Working but also sneaking in a quick hair app as the sun has bleached my hair to Lego yellow. It's not a good look! 😆

It's been a hectic year so far, some very fun things and some not-so-much but we're OK and looking forward to a breather.
