Another whole week of January to go! How!?!?!?! 🫠
How's the start of your year going? Have you stuck to your resolutions that you boldly declared on NYE? 🤪😀

It's been a crazy start to the year for me. Busy-busy right from the start.
So a few things haven't gone to plan - like being on here like I want to.
But I have managed to keep to a few things such as several workouts a week (from home) and an almost daily walk. I'm loving my walks at the moment. It's like a need to get outside. I feel like I really benefit from it. Due to my job and the time I spend in my car during the week, I'm sat down a lot. So making time (even in the rain) to go for a walk is absolutely necessary. Fingers crossed I keep it as a priority.

I'm busy working on new products for Valentines, Mothers Day and Easter which I will have on the website soon! Keep an eye on here for details.

I am also fleshing out another (much bigger) idea which I will share just as soon as I'm in a place to do so. ✨

Well, no slow Sunday for me, I've got loads to do today.

How's the start of your year going? Have you stuck to your resolutions that you boldly declared on NYE? 🤪😀

It's been a crazy start to the year for me. Busy-busy right from the start.
So a few things haven't gone to plan - like being on here like I want to.
But I have managed to keep to a few things such as several workouts a week (from home) and an almost daily walk. I'm loving my walks at the moment. It's like a need to get outside. First full week of work. How are we feeling?
But to be totally honest with you, I'm enjoying January so far. (I'm now just waiting for the grand piano to drop on me from the sky) 😆🫣

I've done the little things I've promised myself so far. I've taken time to enjoy my morning coffee, I've made time for reading, I've been outside every day (this can be difficult with a desk job), I've walked, worked-out and been productive with my work.
And I'm slowly getting back to my healthy eating (had to finish the mince pies first).

Have you planned anything exciting for the year ahead? Maybe a holiday?

As much as I usually dislike January, I'm trying to embrace it as a cosy month to enjoy making plans, watching great telly with my family, catching up with friends over coffee or brunch. I much prefer a brunch than a night out these days. Oh and read! I want to read more this year too. 📚

I'm thinking Sunday as the day to take the decorations down. A very sad day in our house. I hate packing Christmas away. And I'll miss Bob the Christmas tree sparkling away when I come downstairs in a morning.

But for now we are embracing 'Fredagsmys' and enjoying being cosy. ☕️

Here we go, straight into 2026 and I don't have a plan or any resolutions locked in.
All I do know, is that I want to make more time to enjoy the little things. To be more aware of what I'm doing so I can make conscious decisions about what I want to do. Rather than just ploughing along at 100 miles an hour trying to do all the things!

I want to make having a morning coffee an event, rather than quickly downing it before dashing off. If that means waking up ten minutes earlier, then that's what I'll do.

I'm not rushing into 2026. I want to plan properly and maybe by the second week of January I will have some sort of idea of what I want to achieve this year.

How about you? Are you ready to start a new page in your life? Have you got a sharpened pencil at the ready? Or are you a little bit in shock like me and taking the first few days (weeks) a little easy to find your feet?

I came across this gorgeous t-light holder which I thought would be perfect to light and remember those we love. I know we don't need a candle to remember them, but just the act of lighting it and having it glowing whilst we're altogether at Christmastime is a nice feeling.

I LOVE mince pies! 😋

I've got a stash of them in the kitchen and it's taking a lot of willpower not to scoff the lot of them in one sitting. 🐽 If I don't have time to bake my own, I buy them, remove the cases and give them a light dusting of icing sugar. 🤭 They look really pretty on display in the kitchen and an easy treat for when friends pop in for a cuppa.

All the Christmas food adverts are tickling my taste buds and I’m going to start Christmas baking this weekend. I love the Christmas prep process.

Starting with my Christmas cake. I follow a James Martin recipe but swap the brandy for amaretto as I prefer the flavour. I also do a double layer of marzipan as I love it! I see the outer layer of icing as a protective layer only. I peel it off before eating as I am not a fan. It’s like eating sweet floor lino.

I love decorating my kitchen at Christmas too. It already has twinkle lights on the beams, but I like to add Christmas signs, use Christmas-styled accessories, and have a few bits ready to decorate my Christmas table on the big day, or for when we have friends popping in for drinks and nibbles.

Are you Autumn-ready? 🍂

We've got the winter duvet on (bliss), I've changed my summer wardrobe to my winter clothes and we've had the log burner on already.

Doing the school run this morning I had to wear my coat. It's definitely getting chillier!

It's time to get cosy! I've dotted (more) candles around my home which I now light every evening and I've dotted throws and blankets around so it's easy to get cosy.

I love creating a cosy corner for enjoying my book. I love reading and when it's chilly outside I love nothing more than curling up with a good book for an hour (if I'm very lucky!)

I'm always in awe of those people who leave a review on a book and say things like "I read it in one sitting". Ey? How? Not that I am not capable of reading a book cover to cover without stopping, but who has the time for this!? I'm lucky if I get to read a page at bedtime!

So this autumn / winter I'm going to ensure I create some time to enjoy my book from time to time in my ready-made cosy corner. Little, simple things. 😊

What a week it's been. Sooooo busy! And yesterday I think I had every appointment known to man. I think I circumnavigated Suffolk about seven times yesterday. 🤪

But it's Friday and I'm looking forward to a slower paced weekend.

Maybe a bit of pampering? Breakfast in bed? A bit of shopping maybe - I am already temped by all the autumn cosy jumpers and boots! Do you do a bit of baking at the weekends? I've been batch baking crumbles for the autumn and winter months. Maybe your off on a lovely dog walk - followed by a pub lunch or coffee shop stop? I always need either one of those after a long walk 😄

🍂 A U T U M N V I B E S 🍂

I love this time of year - with back to school (college for us), I always feel like it's a little fresh start. I love starting a fresh notebook for my ideas (both home and business), having a mini spring clean of the house, and start to make my home cosy for the months ahead.

I've recently discovered a couple of new independent coffee shops that I will be making the most of this Autumn - whether it's to catch up with friends, spend a couple of hours working in there or to enjoy a coconut milk latte (my new fav) whilst I read a book. This last one is something I've probably done once or twice in my life as it feels totally indulgent to me. 😊 Do you get it, or are you totally comfortable with having a spare hour or two to yourself to read in a coffee shop? ☕📕 Let me know in the comments.

As we come into the latter stages of summer, there are so many simple things I want to enjoy before we're cooped up inside for the autumn/winter months.

This summer seems to have gone so fast, and back to school is almost upon us when routine will run our days and the long, lazy days of summer will soon be a collection of pics on our phones. 📸

So I for one want to make the most of the last warm days of summer. Sitting outside for as many meals as possible, and enjoying my book in my swing chair for an afternoon. (tbh, I'll be lucky if I get an hour, but an afternoon reading sounds better) 😊

I'm hoping this week will be better as last week was a bit rubbish. I had either the flu or Covid. Hadn't heard of Coved in ages, until I had to cancel a couple of catch-ups last week and friends said they were beginning to hear about people getting it again. Hope you're all ok. 😘

So I'm looking forward to a productive and healthier week this week. Didn't manage to workout last week, so hopefully I can get a few workouts in. 🤞

I've got a couple of house projects I need to kick start and I've got some new products to pop on my website as well as start to plan my Christmas collection. Eek! 😜

I also have a new project to give some thought to. It was an idea that came to me from an observation my daughter made when we were out at the coast this summer. Needs a lot of research but could be exciting... 🤔

So after a week of feeling rubbish, I'm raring to go this week! 😁
