Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. 💕
What have you been up to? Something nice I hope.

I've done a bit of everything today, including a workout, planning garden projects & baking healthy treats for the week ahead and a naughty (but nice) ginger cake for pudding later. Cannot wait to have a slice of that with some vanilla custard 😋

But a part of my Sunday is to plan - what is coming up next week? We have so many different appointments, meetings and places to be, between us that I need to have them all logged in one place so I know what I'm doing, or where I need to be.

I hate thinking of what to make for dinner each day. How the hell did that become my never-ending job? Nobody tells you this is what you will have to do every - single - day. 🙄 So to save time during the busy week, I plan meals on a Sunday and make a food shopping list at the same time.

I'm not very good at winging it - never have been. I'm a planner. I like to know details in advance - whether that's a work meeting / new project or something like a weekend away. I like to know what's coming up so I know what I need to do in advance. And don't get me started on my lists. OMG I have sooooo many lists and planning notebooks full of ideas for home and business! 🙈 😆

So I'm now trying to put things in place such as the meal plan thing so I reduce the probability of unwanted surprises and stresses during the busy week ahead. And Sunday os the perfect day for this.

Do you like to plan or are you a sod it, let's just wing-it type of person? Sometimes I wish I was a little bit more of a wing-it person but it stresses me out. I much prefer to have a plan. 📝 Are you the same? Let me know in the comments...

Growing and keeping plants alive is probably normal for most people. But for me this is a massive achievement! I am useless with indoor plants. 🪴

I love greenery in the home - it helps soften the edges and adds texture and colour. So I’m a massive fan of faux stems, plants and trees.

But whenever I’ve tried to keep a plant alive in my home it’s dead within no time at all. 😳

I’ve had friends and family gift me plants and it takes me all my time to not say - “no, you keep it as I will kill it within weeks” 😳 Instead I smile, say thank you and quietly whisper to the plant that I’m sorry.

My mum gave me a little cutting of this at Christmas and it’s still alive!!!! And it’s grown and everything! 😍

I just hope I can keep it going 🤞

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend.
Yesterday was so nice here in Suffolk. Sun was shining and the wind had died off, so I had the windows and doors open and the umph to get some jobs done in the garden and around the house.

I felt motivated to do some jobs that had been driving me crazy for a while (see yesterday's stories) and to do a bit of a deep clean of the house.

When I opened some of our windows (of which haven't been opened since last summer) the space around the frames were full of cobwebs and dust. So I gave them a good clean and rehoused the spiders. 😱

Many years ago in a different house I did have a cleaner but I never had the same satisfaction of a clean house as I do when I've done it myself. So I've never had one since. Plus my particular cleaner stole from me and went into my office and literally rooted through boxes of files etc. And this was when I was in the house with her!

Anyway, I much prefer to clean my own house and love that feeling of when everything looks sparkly that I've done it. 😊

So if you're house proud like me, and enjoy giving your home some love, I'm sharing Tuesday tips for a Spring cleanse that you may find useful.

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend.

I remember when I was a child I used to hate the Coronation Street theme tune as I knew Mum would then say it was time for bed. I’ve just had a message from an excited friend saying “it’s 6pm and it’s still light” 😁
I’m so looking forward to the lighter nights and warmer weather when we can sit outside. However there is snow forecast next week! 🙄

But I do love this time of the evening when it’s just still light out but it’s time to turn the lamps on. I do love a lamp. I’ve got them everywhere! The “big light” if for emergencies only - lost an earring or catching a house spider 😁

I love a slow start to the weekend. No alarm, no rushing around to get out of the house - just a gradual start to the day. And coffee (obvs) 😁 ☕️

And why not add a touch of luxury and have it in bed. Living the dream! 😂

When I used to sleep over at my friends when I was a kid her mum and dad had a Teasmade next to their bed. I thought it was amazing! 🤩

The sheer luxury of having a cup of tea in bed without going to the kitchen. Ahh the memories of a simpler time. A nicer time.

I was chatting with a friend recently and we said how we don’t spend time making a proper cup of tea in a pot. It’s always a tea bag in a cup, whazz it round the cup and you’re done. I want to go back to Bridgerton days when a cup of tea was an event. Mind you, the amount I drink I wouldn’t get anything else done 😂

✨ TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY ✨

My office is in an outbuilding at home and I haven't really given the space much love as we moved in and I got started on my business straight away. And we wanted to spend time making changes to our home first (which we're still doing btw).

Anyway, my desk had seen better days and needed a bit of TLC.
It had started as a pine desk (too orange for me) so I painted it white in a shabby-chic style. Recently it started look more shabby than chic! 🙈

So, I went to Little Greene, bought a pot of their Satin paint in Blush and bought some antique-style bronze knobs. I used satin as it's more hardwearing than matte on a piece of furniture that is used a lot.

It didn't take me long to paint it and pop the new knobs on and I'm really pleased with the finish. Trouble is, it's showing up the rest of my office now! Don't get me started on the horrific green carpet!!! 😱

I love the total transformative power of a little pot of paint. It's a relatively cheap way to update a room or piece of furniture.

How's the start of your year going? Have you stuck to your resolutions that you boldly declared on NYE? 🤪😀

It's been a crazy start to the year for me. Busy-busy right from the start.
So a few things haven't gone to plan - like being on here like I want to.
But I have managed to keep to a few things such as several workouts a week (from home) and an almost daily walk. I'm loving my walks at the moment. It's like a need to get outside. I feel like I really benefit from it. Due to my job and the time I spend in my car during the week, I'm sat down a lot. So making time (even in the rain) to go for a walk is absolutely necessary. Fingers crossed I keep it as a priority.

I'm busy working on new products for Valentines, Mothers Day and Easter which I will have on the website soon! Keep an eye on here for details.

I am also fleshing out another (much bigger) idea which I will share just as soon as I'm in a place to do so. ✨

Well, no slow Sunday for me, I've got loads to do today.

First full week of work. How are we feeling?
But to be totally honest with you, I'm enjoying January so far. (I'm now just waiting for the grand piano to drop on me from the sky) 😆🫣

I've done the little things I've promised myself so far. I've taken time to enjoy my morning coffee, I've made time for reading, I've been outside every day (this can be difficult with a desk job), I've walked, worked-out and been productive with my work.
And I'm slowly getting back to my healthy eating (had to finish the mince pies first).

As much as I usually dislike January, I'm trying to embrace it as a cosy month to enjoy making plans, watching great telly with my family, catching up with friends over coffee or brunch. I much prefer a brunch than a night out these days. Oh and read! I want to read more this year too. 📚

I'm thinking Sunday as the day to take the decorations down. A very sad day in our house. I hate packing Christmas away. And I'll miss Bob the Christmas tree sparkling away when I come downstairs in a morning.

But for now we are embracing 'Fredagsmys' and enjoying being cosy. ☕️

Here we go, straight into 2026 and I don't have a plan or any resolutions locked in.
All I do know, is that I want to make more time to enjoy the little things. To be more aware of what I'm doing so I can make conscious decisions about what I want to do. Rather than just ploughing along at 100 miles an hour trying to do all the things!

I want to make having a morning coffee an event, rather than quickly downing it before dashing off. If that means waking up ten minutes earlier, then that's what I'll do.

I'm not rushing into 2026. I want to plan properly and maybe by the second week of January I will have some sort of idea of what I want to achieve this year.

How about you? Are you ready to start a new page in your life? Have you got a sharpened pencil at the ready? Or are you a little bit in shock like me and taking the first few days (weeks) a little easy to find your feet?
